Football inflation has been incredible over the past decade and none more so than in the world of Derby County since the arrival of Mel Morris.
Whilst we have written at length on here around The Rams spectacular failings in the transfer market, the equally harrowing Nigel Clough austerity era is still less than a decade ago. Here are some example of how things have changed in that time. Shout to my brother who came out of retirement to write most of this one. Read the rest of this entry
As the Rams limber up to return to action this weekend, here’s a quick fire comedy post before we all get bogged down in post match analysis and deciding who the team scapegoat is going to be for October (my tip is Whitbread).
Let’s countdown the DCFC top ten! Read the rest of this entry
With the transfer window now fully open for business, as they did a year ago, the Rams have been quick to dampen any hopes of big signings.
“Getting a few out is priority”, “only if it’s a significant improvement on what we have” and “we’ll react in the loan window if we have to” are phrases most fans of DCFC are now well used to hearing in the month of January. However this year, there doesn’t seem to be half as much reaction to the statements as usual. Read the rest of this entry
A win’s a win’s a win and, by crikey, did the Super Rams need that one yesterday!
Herewith my thoughts on yesterdays ‘save our season’ win over Brizzle City. Read the rest of this entry
Due to a combination of work pressures and newborn baby responsibilities, we’ve taken a small international break ourselves over the last few weeks. However it’s high time we got back in the game, so here’s some thoughts on today’s news that Nigel has signed a new 3 1/2 year contract with the Rams.

After another week of disappointment and frustration for Rams fans, there is no question that patience is being stretched to the max by the current state of affairs at DCFC.
The difference in mood & general feeling around the club between the end of this Ipswich game and the corresponding away game couldn’t be further apart. Whilst we’ve had many really good and really bad seasons, I don’t think I can recall one falling quite so spectacularly off the edge of the cliff as this one. Read the rest of this entry
I’ve been wanting to write this piece for nearly a week now but haven’t had chance to get online. However last week I did something DCFC related, that I haven’t done for a good few years, that is take in a reserve game. Read the rest of this entry
I can’t remember being more gutted and frustrated after a game than after Saturdays defeat to Coventry. Having passed them off the pitch and created enough chances to win the game comfortably, we were undone by percentage football and, to be fair, some rank bad defending. Now I know how Arsenal fans must feel after getting mugged at Stoke, Bolton etc. Read the rest of this entry
