On Monday night I went to watch the U21’s score a win out of nowhere with two late goals to beat Swansea. This was the second time I’ve seen the 21’s this season following the previous home game against Villa.

The Rams have not had many players from Spain over the years but the ones we have had have always been top quality. No one needs reminding about how good Inigo Idiakez was, but Alberto Bueno is also worth a shout for producing a fair few bits of magic in an otherwise dismal period.
This year we have two quality Spanish youngsters in the shape of Ivan Calero and Omar Mascarell.
Since it was first announced that this year’s U-21 games were to be split between Moor Farm, the Ipro and Impact Arena, it was always my intention to attend a good splattering of these fixtures.
It’s taken a little longer than I’d hoped to get off the mark, but tonight I attended my first one, taking in a 1-1 draw against Bolton at the Impact Arena. Here’s my thoughts. Read the rest of this entry
