As incredible as it may seem, we are now well into pre-season after only 3 weeks or so since the last season finished. The lads are back in, friendlies have started and, I kid you not, we have actually signed someone in the shape of Scotland’s number 1, David Marshall.
Whilst our EFL charge verdict remains outstanding, the whole outlook for the imminent season 20/21 could change immediately at any time. However right here, right now, here’s our traditional new season barometer. Read the rest of this entry
If you haven’t done your Christmas shopping yet, then I would suggest you better get a shift on. However, as you scrape around for your last few stocking fillers, stores on the high street and online alike are preparing their January Sales.
Derby County are no different and here’s a leaked sales brochure that is due to be emailed out on Boxing day. Read the rest of this entry
Continuing yesterdays trip down misery lane with the Derby County recruitment team of Transfer windows past, here’s the second part of Mels Worst Eleven. Read the rest of this entry
I was really hoping that we would thrash Burton on Tuesday, everyone would be talking play offs again and this mini-series would become redundant. Alas dear readers, the mood remains one of sombre consignment to another season slugging it out in the Championship and the answer to the great conundrum “how the fuck do DCFC get out this league” remains as far away as it ever has.
Anyway, back on topic, let’s have a look at the striking department and point a few in the general direction of the departure lounge whilst we are at it. Read the rest of this entry
Although this has been by far the lowest profile transfer window from a DCFC viewpoint for some time, as ever, there’s still been plenty going on this month for Derby fans to chew over.
Thus what better way to pull it all together than a well overdue return for the classic Ramspace Barometer. Check it….. Read the rest of this entry
Happy new year to all Rams fans and especially those of you who continue to read our stuff. Apologies updates have been thin for the last few weeks due to technology issues, but these have now been sorted.
For as long as I can remember, it has been a common mantra of Rams fans that we are “too nice”. With the first round of the January transfer window having us linked with two, in my view, unsavoury characters, this could soon change.
Here’s our view on the Lansbury & Martin situations. Read the rest of this entry
Since Wolves first bid for Chris Martin some weeks ago, debate has raged amongst Rams fans as to whether we should take the opportunity to sell him and freshen up our attacking options.
With Chris now on loan at Fulham for the rest of the season and highly unlikely to wear a Derby shirt again (certainly not under Pearson), Rams fan still seem divided as to whether this was a good move or not. Read the rest of this entry
So the dust has now settled on another transfer window. Amongst more minor transactions, Derby have broken their transfer record for a new centre forward, sold an academy produced player for £10m+, loaned our top scorer for the last 3 years to a fellow Championship club (note I don’t class Fulham as a rival) and signed an international winger for £4m.
With all of that, plus an effective cull of our fringe players (Albentosa, Bucko, Warnock, Shots and Grant), it seems strange that the general opinion amongst many DCFC fans is that we weren’t that active. Read the rest of this entry
Due to, what ended up being, the best part of a month away from Derbados, I missed all of pre-season and also the first three games. Thus all my Rams viewing up to that point was done via Twitter and YouTube.
This week, I started to play catch-up by attending both the Preston and Villa games. Thus here’s some general thoughts on those games and the progress of the Pearson era thus far. Read the rest of this entry
It’s the 9th December today so who else would you expect to be behind the door apart from super Chrissy Martin, Derby’s Number 9!
Goalscorer supreme and now Rams captain, Chris remains pivotal to this Derby County side and our hopes of promotion to the Premier league. Read the rest of this entry
