6th – Harry Wilson

In a vain attempt to keep these posts vaguely relevant and on trend, behind todays window we have superstar man of the moment, Harry Wilson.

Battle through a couple of paragraphs of my rubbish then kick back and enjoy a cracking YouTube video of the man himself doing his thing.

After a succesful spell on loan at Hull in the second half of last season, the Rams beat off the majority of the Championship (including The Snake) to secure the services of the Welsh winger in a statement making double swoop with Mason Mount.

Looking sharp in pre season, a niggling muscle injury caused a bit of a stop start beginning to Harrys Rams career. With Mason Mount taking all the early season plaudits, Wilsons return to the team against Brentford came a little bit under the radar. However a match winning display against the Bees and his first goal for the Rams was the start of a major contribution to the Rams season thus far.

Happy on either wing or in central midfield, Harry is simply a brilliant footballer, with a left foot to die for. His free kick at Man Utd was certainly the best one i’ve ever seen by a Derby player and right up there with any free kick by anyone ever in my opinion.

There was a great stat floating around last season that Ruben Neves scored the most goals from outside the box in the Championship last season with six. Harry has 5 already!

Whilst his goals are great, its also worth mentioning his work rate, movement, low centre of gravity agility and his ability to take a whack (he’ll need that more as the season progresses no doubt). All great assets that Harry has in abundance.

With January approaching, an injury to Adam Lallana and the Jordan Ibe (who was also flying for Derby at the time) recall still fresh in the memory, Rams fans are understandably concerned that history may repeat itself. Currently this only looks like it can happen if everyone agrees, so we ‘should’ be ok.

Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it

You’re a Wizard Harry!
