All things being equal, Chris Maguire should be announced as DCFC’s next summer signing tomorrow (Tuesday 31st May). Taking a slight flier and showing some crazy faith in Tom Glicks ability to close, here’s the lowdown on our new boy from his former club.
A late entry for the season barometer goes to Sheffield United Academy director John Pemberton for guiding Sheff U. to the final of the FA Youth Cup final. After a disappointing season, sometimes the only salvation is other peoples misery. Or more specifically, that of another club. Even more specifically – Forest. I’m sure they will sneer at us, given the league positions. But did they hold back when we were in the Prem and they were in League 1? Judging by the number of hits on the site after the Red Dogs most recent debacle, I’m guessing that some comment wouldn’t go amiss. See here goes. So Billy’s fell at the final hurdle yet again and the season is finally over for the Rams.
Before we get too far into the summer and the revolving doors get into full swing, here’s a brief personal summary of this season’s highs and lows.
After a brief renaissance which just about secured our Championship status, the season looks to be ending on a very dismal note, with only a daunting trip to Reading standing between us and 4 straight defeats.
Despite threats of mass changes and significant transfer investment, many fans are once again suggesting that Nigel Clough is not the man to take us forward. Take our test and see if you’re one of them.
