Post Match Notts County & General Rams Thoughts

This afternoon I went to my first game of this season, attending the 3-1 victory over Notts County at Meadow Lane.

What ended up being a comfortable victory, nicely rounded off a good few weeks for the Rams prior to the players leaving fro Austria on Sunday. Here’s a few thoughts on today’s game followed by a few more general comments around the state of the DCFC nation.

Derby County – World Soccer Season Preview

For the last few years, we’ve been asked the write the Derby County piece for the World Soccer season preview special they release each year.

The format is that they send a generic set of questions to each club and you simply send in the answers. Here’s our submission for this years publication, which by the way is a brilliant sunbed read.

Here We Go Again

Tomorrow the Derby County players report back for their first pre season fitness tests, the new seasons fixtures are in hand and England’s World Cup campaign is over almost before it even started.

Normally this is a time of great excitement and anticipation, yet with the crushing nature of our defeat to QPR, still fresh in the mind, I’m definitely currently looking at the new season with mixed emotions.

Death or Glory ?

This time next week we will know whether Derby County will be playing their football next season in, the self-styled (with a bit of help from Sky TV), ‘greatest league in the word’ or limbering up for another marathon slog through the Championship.

Rams fans who have attended our last two appearances in the play off final will know this is no ‘good day out’ scenario and appreciate the absolute death or glory nature of the fixture. Read the rest of this entry

Post Match Bullets – Watford

After writing last week about the calm before the storm, I had a very similar feeling of ambivalence before yesterday’s game against Watford. The Calm Before The Storm

Prior to last weekends game against Huddersfield I had a strange feeling of apathy towards the days proceedings. It wasn’t the fact I wasn’t looking forward to the game, but more the fact that win lose or draw, there was no jeopardy or glory in the outcome.

The Good Will Out

What an amazing day it was yesterday with the the Red Dogs and their evil leader vanquished with maximum prejudice by the Super Rams.

I’m sure we will all write and talk about this one for a long time, but here’s a few of my thoughts, the morning after the day before. Read the rest of this entry

The Evil Down The Road

On Saturday the Rams entertain our neighbours and local rivals Nottingham Forest at the Ipro Stadium.

With both clubs (at the time of writing) sitting in the top 6 of the Championship with 10 games to play, local rivalry aside, the fixture has not had as much genuine significance for years.

Reading – Pre Match Preview with Info-graphic !

With the DCFC blogosphere chock full of quality folks doing decent stuff on a very regular basis, pre match previews aren’t really our thing. However when a nice lady from SkyBet sent me a half decent (but very pretty) Info-graphic previewing the Reading game, i thought it would be rude not to use it!

Derby County Barometer – March 2014

Friends, it’s been a while. February was a fantastic month for DCFC but a quiet one for Ramspace.

There’s enough folks doing pre and post match game stuff now, so here we go back with a bang and the old Skool classic that is the Ramspace barometer.
