Reading – Pre Match Preview with Info-graphic !

With the DCFC blogosphere chock full of quality folks doing decent stuff on a very regular basis, pre match previews aren’t really our thing. However when a nice lady from SkyBet sent me a half decent (but very pretty) Info-graphic previewing the Reading game, i thought it would be rude not to use it!

Whilst Wednesdays game against Bolton was another frustrating result, to me, it was chalk and cheese with the Millwall game.

I’ve been to a lot of Rams games of late, including several away and, aside from the finishing, i thought it was our best performance for some time. The movement, energy, zip and all those other things were back forcing even Dougie Freedman to say Derby were ‘outstanding’. If we’d have played anything like that against Millwall we could have won 5 or 6 nil comfortably.

By pure law of averages, the Rams cant play that well again and not score so let hope we can turn it on again today.

Reading are a funny side. Some weeks they look back to their old solid (tedious?) selves, but this season they’ve been really inconsistent. Their inexplicable draw against 8 man Yeovil still upsets me now (betting reference). Its also worth saying that the Madjeski is right up there with the King Power as a DCFC graveyard. However if we play like we did Wednesday surely we can’t fail to score at least once.

In terms of line up, the key question is will Hughes be restored? Based on Steve’s policy so far I actually think he may start on the bench.

I expect our tactic to be a very high octane start, a la Wigan away, and try and blast Reading out the water. If we get in front, we can introduce Will to retain the ball in the second half.

Certainly with Burnley dropping points for the first time in weeks, it would be a good time to put down a serous marker.

Preview over – Come on you Rams!
