End of Season Awards

So the season is over for another year and we all now have to go through the annual 3 month ritual of desperately checking Radio Derby, DET, Twitter etc everyday for even the tiniest piece of Rams news.

Just before we all jump on that particular treadmill, in direct response to reader requests for more of the old skool comedy articles, herewith the Ramspace end of season awards for 2011/2012.

Feel free to add your own in the comments section.

The Nigel Clough annual “you do the press” award – Andy Garner (previous winners 2010 Gary Crosby, 2011 Jonny Metgod)

“Don’t stress Martin, its only one season then its back to Crosby”

The Seb Hines award for pointless loan signings – Ryan Noble (Ryan is allowed to keep the award for winning it 2 years in a row)

The Alan Stubbs “if we can keep him fit, he’ll be great for us this season” award – Chris Riggott

The Cardiff City award for “doing a Cardiff” – Middlesbrough’s season in the top 6 ending in mid table

The Greek award for Financial Management on a different level – Portsmouth (previous winners, Portsmouth, Portsmouth and Portsmouth)

The Paul Jewell award for irresponsible spending on shit players – Steve Mclaren in recognition of possibly the worst triple swoop ever in Miller, Greening and Derbyshire

The Public Sector year off sick award – Saul Deeney

The Tomaz Cwyka ‘black ball” award for constructive dismissal – Chris Maguire with special recognition for Miles Addison in this category.

£10m footballer to £10 an hour personal trainer. Bad times.

The Johnnie Jackson award for ineffective midfielders from Tottenham – Tom Carroll (previous winner Jake Livermore)

The Nottingham Forest “shit, half our teams out of contract” award – Comfortably retained by the Red Dogs

The Giles Barnes award for dramatic loss of value – Miles Addison

The Happy Mondays reunion hallucination award – Roger Davies. Every time we play Ipswich, he talks about a 30 yard screamer Carlos Edwards scored against us for Sunderland. It never happened.

The Jessie J “it’s not about the money, money , money” award – Paul Green for the most diplomatic “i’m leaving for more cash” contract refusal ever.
